Looking Back at the Legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, and a strong advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. Nominated to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton, she served from 1993 until her death this past Friday. She wrote numerous important majority opinions, and became known for her fiery dissents.
“Ruth Bader Ginsburg paved the way for women, spoke her mind, and was one of the first women to show you can have both a family and career,” said Black Marjieh & Sanford Partner Sheryl Sanford. “We love that she felt dissents would be the future, and her dissents were powerful to read. We lost an amazing woman.”
Here is a great list of some of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s most memorable speeches, compiled by CNN.
